Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that he plans to visit New York, despite the promise of the US Democratic candidate for mayor, Zohran Mamdani, to arrest him. This was reported by The Times of Israel on July 8.

"Netanyahu stated that he still plans to travel to New York, despite the fact that Mamdani promised to arrest the Israeli prime minister, referring to the warrant for his arrest at the International Criminal Court," the report said.

As the newspaper noted, in response, Netanyahu did not express concern about his own arrest.

"There's enough craziness in the world, but I think it never ends. It's terrible, and it's stupid in many ways, because it's just not serious," the Israeli prime minister explained.

Earlier, on July 7, Netanyahu announced the nomination of US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize during a meeting with the American leader at the White House. Netanyahu noted that this is a "well-deserved" honor for Trump. In turn, the US president noted that the nomination was news to him.
