- Marine gunners of the Northern Fleet disrupted the rotation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the banks of the Dnieper
The sabotage group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was eliminated by the Northern Fleet Marine artillery from the Dnepr group of forces in the Kherson region. Footage of the work of Russian military personnel was shown by the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday, July 8.
The enemy's sabotage group was discovered by scouts, after which the artillery crew of the 122-mm D-30 cannon was given the task of eliminating the target. As noted in the Ministry of Defense, it took only a few minutes for the soldiers of the Northern Fleet Marine brigade to prepare the gun, aim at the coordinates they received and make a shot exactly at the target. The rotation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was disrupted.
"The task has been received to destroy the infantry hidden on the islands. That is, this is the landing zone and the disembarkation zone of the Ukrainian cluster. We fired two shells, the target was destroyed, the task was completed. The island zone is completely under the control of Russian troops, the artillery completely covers it, and we basically reach that shore too," commented the battery commander with the call sign Kaban.
He said that they try to destroy targets as often as possible. The work is going productively.
"If infantry support is required, we receive a task, we complete the task. In the shortest possible time and with the minimum number of guns. We try with a minimum number of shells, as the guys already have a lot of experience," he said.
Earlier, on July 6, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that crews of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the 18th Combined arms Army from the Dnepr group of forces destroyed an American-made M777 howitzer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the right bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region.
