The Chinese company ByteDance has denied information about the sale of a controlling stake in the TikTok social network to American companies led by Oracle. This was reported on July 8 by the Chinese newspaper Kechuangban Zhibao.

"In response to market rumors that ByteDance had agreed to sell TikTok's American business to an American consortium led by Oracle and retain a minority stake, ByteDance responded and stated that this information was not true," the publication says.

At the same time, ByteDance noted that in April of this year there were similar rumors about a possible deal, and at that time the company also issued a denial.

Earlier, on July 5, US President Donald Trump announced the readiness of a deal to purchase TikTok. The American leader also announced on June 19 that he had signed a decree extending the TikTok platform in the country for 90 days, that is, until September 17, 2025. Prior to that, White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt said that Trump did not want the platform to "fade into the shadows."
