Khalil Arslanov, the former deputy head of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, and his accomplices were convicted by the 235th garrison military court for a bribe of more than 1.4 billion rubles. This was stated in the verdict of the court on July 8.
"To satisfy the civil claim of the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Ponomarev, in the interests of the Russian Federation, represented by the Ministry of Defense, for compensation for material damage. Collect 408 million rubles jointly from Arslanov, Ogloblin, Kutakhov, Yakovlev, Savitsky, Semiletov. To recover 1 billion 16 million rubles jointly from Arslanov, Ogloblin, Kutakhov, Davydov, Savitsky," the TASS news agency quotes from the document.
As the agency noted, in order to satisfy the claim, the court converted Arslanov's apartment in Moscow and a plot of land in the Moscow region to the income of the Russian Federation, and also seized about 12 million rubles on the defendant's accounts.
Earlier, on July 7, Colonel-General Khalila Arslanova, accused of bribery and fraud, was sentenced to 17 years in a high-security penal colony. In addition, he was fined more than 24 million rubles, and he was stripped of his military rank.
