A case was opened in the Krasnoyarsk Territory on the fact of timber smuggling abroad.

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, an inspection revealed the fact of timber smuggling across the customs border abroad, and a criminal case has been opened. This was announced on July 8 by the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office in the Telegram channel.

"It has been established that the company exported coniferous timber with a volume of over 100 cubic meters from the city of Lesosibirsk across the customs border. m and worth more than 500 thousand rubles, in respect of which forged documents and false information about the source of the purchased timber were provided to the customs authority," the agency said.

It is specified that based on the results of the materials sent to the body of inquiry, a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Large-scale smuggling of strategically important resources").

The investigation is currently under the control of the Transport Prosecutor's Office.

Earlier, on July 7, a case was opened in the Krasnoyarsk Territory on timber smuggling for almost 4 million rubles. In total, the company illegally exported 869 cubic meters of timber. The cost of lumber was about 3.8 million rubles.
