Now the BRICS task is to ensure that the process of entry of new member countries and partner countries is successful, so that they integrate into the activities of the association, Alexander Shchetinin, director of the Latin American Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, told Izvestia.

"We believe that BRICS is an organization, an association of countries where decisions are made by consensus. Prior to this, the consent of all countries is required. Of course, our task now is to ensure that the process of joining new member and partner countries is successful, so that they are integrated into the program and methodology of the association's activities. Therefore, the question of further expansion steps belongs to some future, agreed decisions of all countries. Of course, given the importance of the growing place of Latin American countries in world politics and economics, we would welcome their broader and clearer voice in BRICS," the diplomat noted.
