During the performance of tasks in the area of the special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine, Russian army soldiers use unmanned railway equipment. The corresponding footage is published by Izvestia on June 8.

"Any repair work on the railway in the front line is complicated not only by the threat from the air, but also by the need to check and clear the tracks themselves, since heavy fighting was going on everywhere," Dmitry Astrakhan, a correspondent for Izvestia, reported.

It is reported that a large number of unexploded ordnance is found in the area of the tracks. At the same time, the metal structure of the railway does not allow the use of mine detectors for searching. As a result, specialists are forced to visually inspect the area and find explosive objects on their own.

To organize the supply and transportation of goods along the tracks, the personnel uses special unmanned trolleys installed on the railway.

"Her advantage is that she is, of course, faster. Mud, snow, rain — it's moving along the railway track," said a soldier with the call sign Don.

The fighter noted that such a platform is capable of traveling up to 50 km and carrying cargo weighing up to 1 ton.

On June 7, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov noted the importance of applying the best practices of special operations in training military personnel to prepare for possible future conflicts. During the discussions, the head of the Russian military department noted the need for cooperation with the civilian sector. According to him, this will allow, in the interests of the Ministry of Defense, to train specialists in sought-after specialties.
