The doctor told about the dangers of eating on the go
Increasingly, people eat when they are in a hurry, but this principle can harm the human body. About how eating on the go can lead to diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), July 7, Gazeta.Ru" was told by Olga Tarasova, Associate Professor of the Department of Hospital Pediatrics No. 2 at Pirogov University.
The doctor noted that this approach to eating causes stress in our body.
"If we are on the move, we make fewer chewing movements, the oral cavity is not fully processed by enzymes, the gastrointestinal tract does not have time to prepare. <...> The system of cortisol production is triggered, a stress hormone that does not allow us to fully digest food," Tarasova said.
She stressed that cortisol production is one of the main causes of overeating. The consumption of fast food also leads to this.
"Basically, fast food is carbohydrate and fatty foods, with relatively few protein components. It instantly leads us to overeating," the doctor explained.
By itself, overeating, according to Tarasova, leads to weight gain, cardiovascular diseases and intestinal microflora disorders, gastritis and other gastrointestinal diseases.
Earlier, on June 27, Elena Specenko, director of the Roskachestvo Center for Food Safety Competencies, said that it is better not to buy fast food in wet weather, as these are ideal conditions for the reproduction of pathogenic microorganisms. The specialist clarified that trays with open food, such as shawarma, hot dogs and burgers, are particularly dangerous.
