On July 7, the UAE Foreign Ministry reported that 22 crew members of the Magic Seas dry cargo ship were rescued from the sinking vessel after it was attacked by the Houthis of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement in the Red Sea.

"The Abu Dhabi Ports Group's Seven Prism vessel immediately responded to a distress call from the merchant vessel Magic Seas. <...> The UAE response led to the rescue of all 22 crew members, including security personnel," the agency said in a statement.

The UAE Foreign Ministry noted that the operation was carried out in coordination with relevant maritime units, including the UK Maritime Transport Authority (UKMTO).

Earlier in the day, Saria reported that the Yemeni Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack on the Magic Seas cargo ship in the Red Sea. He noted that the operation was carried out after the military sent warnings to the Magic Seas vessel. The cargo ship itself sank in the Red Sea.
