The UN commented on Trump's threats of duties against BRICS partners
The official representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), Stephane Dujarric, said on July 7 that there are no winners in the trade war.
"Our basic position is clear, there are no winners in the trade war," Dujarric said at a briefing broadcast on the UN's YouTube channel.
On July 6, US President Donald Trump announced that he plans to impose additional duties of 10% on countries that support the BRICS policy. He added that there would be no exceptions to this rule.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on July 7 that cooperation within the framework of the BRICS has never been and will not be directed against third countries. According to him, the uniqueness of such BRICS is that it is an association of countries that share common approaches and a common worldview on how to cooperate based on their own interests.
