Disagreements are growing in NATO, and a "slight mutiny on the ship" is brewing there. This was announced on July 7 by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, answering questions from journalists following his participation in the BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro.

"Disagreements are deepening there, such a rebellion is brewing on the ship, as more and more countries want to be guided not by some ideologized attitudes imposed by the host, but by their national interests," Lavrov said.

According to him, the expansion of the North Atlantic Alliance has not benefited anyone, including the NATO members themselves.

On June 30, Lavrov said that the catastrophic growth of NATO's military budgets would eventually lead to the destruction of the organization. He also pointed out that the members of the North Atlantic Alliance are promoting "fictional and unreported threats."
