Flooding killed 27 children and counselors at a camp in Texas

At least 27 pupils and counselors of the Mystic camp died as a result of flooding in Texas. CNN reported this on July 7, citing a statement from the institution.

"Camp Mystic has confirmed that at least 27 pupils and counselors died as a result of the devastating floods that hit the camp in Texas over the weekend," the publication says.

It is specified that among the dead is also the director of the institution, who tried to save vacationers during the flood. According to CNN, work is continuing to find ten more camp participants and one counselor.

The flooding that occurred in Kerr County, which caused multiple damage, became known on July 4. A state of emergency has been declared in the region. On July 7, it was reported that the death toll from severe flooding in central Texas had increased to 80 people. The largest number of deaths was recorded in Kerr County.
