- The road travelers were offered a route through the cave temples of the Voronezh region
Rosneft and the Voronezh Tourist Information Center presented a new tourist automobile route "Cave Temples".
According to the press service of the oil company, the 286 km route starts in Voronezh and ends in Belogorye. Following the M4 Don highway, travelers can visit three cave temple complexes in Liskinsky and Podgorensky districts.
The presentation of the route took place as part of the summer festival, which took place on July 5 at the Divnogorye Museum-Reserve. There are two cave temples open to the public in the reserve. One of them is the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God of Sicily in Bolshye Divy. It is cut down at the base of the Cretaceous remnant-diva, has two tiers connected by a stairway.
The second complex is located in the village of Kostomarovo, Podgorensky district: in the Church of the Savior Not Made with Hands, you can see the ancient throne and the icon of the Mother of God "Blessed Heaven".
About 80 km to the south is the Voskresensky Belogorsky Monastery in Belogorye. The length of the caves here is more than 2 km, they are considered the longest of the artificially paved passages in the mountains.
Rosneft and the Voronezh Region have a memorandum of cooperation on the development of domestic tourism, signed in 2024 as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The company, together with the region, has already presented four routes for traveling by car in Voronezh and the Voronezh region. The routes include popular tourist destinations located both in Voronezh itself and near federal highways.
