Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law according to which participants in a special military operation (SVO) Donbas and Novorossiya will receive the status of combat veterans. The relevant document was published on July 7 on the website of the official publication of legal acts.

According to the law, the status of combat veterans will be granted to persons who have performed tasks during their military operations in the territories of Ukraine, the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) since February 24, 2022, as well as in the territories of the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions since September 30, 2022, and who have special merits. in completing tasks.

It is also noted that in order to obtain veteran status, you need to work in these territories for at least six months. In addition, military personnel of the military formations of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, who during the special operation carried out work on the search, neutralization and or destruction of explosive objects, will be recognized as veterans.

On July 2, Putin discussed with Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Anna Tsivileva the social security of military personnel who were injured during their military service and remained in military service. It is noted that the houses and apartments of veterans of the special operation are being adapted to their needs, and they are also given cars with manual controls.
