- Medvedev spoke sharply about the head of the European Commission after the story of the vote of no confidence
On July 7, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, criticized Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission (EC), in connection with allegations of fraud in the procurement of vaccines during the coronavirus pandemic.
Medvedev recalled that von der Leyen was "dishonest" and participated in "fraud with the purchase of Pfizer vaccines" against COVID-19.
"It is not known what and in what volumes I received, nevertheless, the sediment remained," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Medvedev added that, despite a possible vote of no confidence, von der Leyen may retain his post, "but the bell rang," adds "Газета.Ru ".
On May 14, the EU Court of Justice found the head of the EC responsible for concealing information about contracts for the purchase of vaccines. It was clarified that such a decision could deal a crushing blow to von der Leyen's reputation.
On June 27, more than 70 MEPs supported the initiative to vote no confidence in the head of the European Commission. Of the 79 deputies from the European Conservative and Reformist Group, 31 representatives signed the vote of no confidence.
