The technical specialists of the Island of Dreams have begun the installation of one of the main facilities of the future open—air amusement park, an extreme 631-meter-long monorail roller coaster from one of the world's leading amusement park manufacturers.

At the moment, there are only two skating rinks of this type in the world: one of them is located in Europe, the second in Australia. The new skating rink in the open-air amusement park "Island of Dreams" will be the only one in Eastern Europe.

During skiing, guests can expect sharp ascents and descents, simulated weightlessness at speeds up to 70 km/h. The track includes 3 inversions and 13 sections where guests experience a feeling of weightlessness, which allows them to get the most vivid impressions from skiing. The attraction is equipped with 2 trains made up of 9 individual single carriages, where visitors are accommodated one after the other. This seating arrangement in ergonomic seats with carbon fiber safety straps provides increased visibility and gives an additional sense of freedom while riding. The highest point of ascent when skating is 19 meters.

"The complete supply package of the attraction includes approximately 30 full-size covered trucks, including columns, track sections, trains and wagons, a control system, station sections, a switch transition and track rails of the service area. That is, it is such a large constructor with numerous parts, which has a clear assembly schedule," comments Gleb Paul, Technical director of the Island of Dreams.

"The installation begins with the preliminary arrangement of columns and track sections. After complete installation, the paths and columns are aligned and tightened. Then —fixing the support columns with a non-shrinkable mixture. Next, a control system, drives and, last but not least, trains are installed. After the installation is completed, commissioning, cyclic and acceptance tests begin," he says.

The attraction is made in an outdoor design, which will allow it to be operated both in dry and wet weather (except for heavy rain and snow). For the winter period, the attraction is undergoing conservation, the trains will be located in a heated, dry room in accordance with the manufacturer's rules and routine operations necessary to prepare for the next season.

Visitors over 120 cm tall will be able to ride the extreme monorail roller coaster. Unlike most family extreme rides, which have a minimum height limit of 130 or 140 cm. This is achieved through the use of an upgraded restraint system (safety arc). The completion of installation and commissioning is scheduled for September. Acceptance tests are expected to be completed this fall.

The attraction will be registered upon completion of all work on the adjacent territory. The final tests of the certification body with the control of compliance of the safety contour of the attraction with the current requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation will be held next spring.

It is expected that the attraction will receive its first visitors after the official opening of the street sector of the Island of Dreams amusement park in the summer of 2026. In total, there will be more than 20 attractions, four themed areas that have no global analogues, a city boardwalk, a landscaped embankment with access to the water area and other unique facilities.
