The political scientist explained the superiority of BRICS over the "big Seven"
The BRICS association is more promising and has already surpassed the G7 in terms of the aggregate gross domestic product (GDP) of the participating countries and purchasing power parity. This opinion was expressed by political scientist Malek Dudakov on Monday, July 7.
"Of course, the G7 currently has a huge number of shortcomings, and the gap from the BRICS is growing. From 2019-2020, the G7 began to be inferior to the BRICS in terms of the total aggregate GDP of the participating countries, in terms of purchasing power parity," he said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
According to the expert, the BRICS account for about 35% of the global economy, while the G7 countries account for less than 30%. Dudakov recalled that more and more crisis situations are being resolved on the basis of BRICS, for example, between India and China, the Indo-Pakistani agenda and the situation in Ukraine will also be discussed.
"We understand that the BRICS countries are growing very fast, especially China and India. The G7 countries, on the contrary, are either stagnating or in recession. Therefore, it is obvious that the BRICS club has more prospects in the future," the political scientist noted.
In addition, Dudakov called the G20 format dysfunctional in recent years, as it is more difficult for participants to come to an agreement due to different views.
