- Lavrov pointed to the inapplicability of the principle of territorial integrity to Ukraine.
The Kiev regime cannot claim the territorial integrity of Ukraine, as it does not represent the population of the southeast. This was announced on July 7 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with Magyar Nemzet newspaper.
"For some reason, when the West quotes the UN Charter, it is quoted extremely selectively, for example, excluding only territorial integrity. <...> At the same time, they ignore the right of peoples to self—determination," Lavrov said.
He noted that the Ukrainian authorities are now spreading Russophobia and do not represent the Russian-speaking regions of the country. According to him, based on their actions, they cannot invoke the principle of territorial integrity.
The day before, Lavrov said that Western countries have become more aggressive in introducing their ideological ultimatums into the dialogue on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which negatively affects their achievement. He also noted that Russia has proposed to form a new investment platform within the framework of the BRICS with the participation of the New Development Bank (NDB) in order to mobilize resources.
