The US Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have not found evidence to support the theory of possible blackmail of influential people or the premeditated murder of American financier Jeffrey Epstein. This was announced on Monday, July 7, by the Axios portal.

"The Department of Justice of President [US Donald] Trump and the FBI have concluded that they have no evidence that convicted sex offender and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein blackmailed influential figures, maintained a "client list," or was murdered, according to an internal memo detailing the findings.

FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino said that the theory of Epstein's murder in prison in 2019 has not been confirmed. The official version of the investigation is suicide.

The publication clarified that other defendants in the Epstein case will not be charged. Also, the investigators did not find the so-called "compromising client list" and did not find evidence of possible blackmail by the financier.

In 2019, Epstein was arrested on charges of organizing sex trafficking and involving minors in prostitution. A few months after his arrest, he committed suicide in a correctional center. In January 2024, the first part of the documents was published, containing the names of more than 150 people involved in the Epstein case in one way or another. Among them were former US President Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and Microsoft founder Bill Gates. The Mirror reported on September 4 last year that visitors to the businessman's island were afraid that American leader Donald Trump would reveal their names.
