Peskov rejected the version about Starovoit's resignation due to loss of trust
The resignation of Transport Minister Roman Starovoit is not related to a loss of confidence, and the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin did not mention such a reason. This was announced to reporters on July 7 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"As you have seen, no such wording was used," Peskov commented on the false information about the reasons for Starovoit's resignation.
In addition, he, the Kremlin's official representative, spoke about the appointment of Deputy head of the Ministry of Transport Andrei Nikitin to the post of acting Minister of Transport. According to Peskov, Nikitin's working qualities will help to solve the tasks facing the ministry most effectively.
On July 7, Putin released Starovoit from his post by decree. The reasons for this decision were not reported.
