The entrepreneur warned about the risk of default in France due to Macron's policy

French President Emmanuel Macron is harming France with his policies and turning it into a third world country. This was stated on July 7 by French entrepreneur, geopolitical analyst and leader of the International Alliance of Patriots, Thierry Andre Laurent-Pelle, in an interview with Izvestia.

"Now we [European countries] are under terrible financial pressure. Especially France — we are on the verge of default <...> France is turning into a third world country. And all because we have a leader who is not able to manage the interests of his own country. Today, every country in a multipolar world is starting to defend its interests," said Laurent-Pelle.

He noted that France's debt currently stands at 170% of GDP. According to him, Paris may soon be under the control of the International Monetary Fund.

Laurent-Pelle also referred to the recent commitment by NATO member countries to allocate 5% of GDP to defense.

"If you look at France's financial situation, it becomes clear that it cannot even afford to allocate 5% of the budget to support the army. It's impossible. And most countries are in the same position. Look at what Spain is doing — they also said that 5% of GDP is excluded. Because financially it's just unbearable," the analyst notes.

He also recalled the embarrassing situations in which Macron recently found himself: he received a slap in the face from his wife in public and lost in a "tug of war" to Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"Ukrainians even coined the term "macroning." It's when there's a lot of noise, but no result <...> So if you're asking me about France's role on the international stage, well, maybe for a show, for a laugh. It's not serious," he concluded.

According to Le Pen, France does not need a leader who "plays soldiers."
