- The export of gun sights worth 29 million rubles was stopped at Sheremetyevo airport.
At Sheremetyevo airport in the capital, employees of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) found a shipment of gun sights and brackets for their attachment totaling 29 million rubles. This was reported on July 7 in the press service of the department.
"When scanning the suitcases of a 35-year—old foreigner flying to Qatar, undeclared goods in the amount of 142 units were revealed," the FCS Telegram channel wrote.
It is noted that during the examination it turned out that these items are thermal imaging sights for hunting rifles. The department clarified that the relevant goods had been seized.
According to the passenger, he did not know about the need to declare the sights and brackets. An administrative violation case has been opened into the incident under the article on non-declaration of goods.
"The sanction of the article provides for a fine from one second to twice the value of the goods with their confiscation," the FCS noted.
On April 10, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) reported that a crocodile's head was found in the luggage of one of the tourists, which he was trying to smuggle into Russia in order to replenish his own collection. The man who owned the "souvenir" noted that he did not know about the need to provide a declaration for his find.
