The Kremlin reacted to Trump's statement on duties against the BRICS countries
On July 7, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on a statement by US President Donald Trump about the possible imposition of additional trade duties of 10% against countries supporting the BRICS policy.
"We have indeed seen such statements by President Trump. It is very important to note here that the uniqueness of such an association as BRICS lies in the fact that it is an association of countries that share common approaches and a common worldview on how to cooperate based on their own interests. And this cooperation within the framework of the BRICS has never been and will not be directed against any third countries," Peskov said at a briefing.
On July 6, Trump announced that he plans to impose additional duties of 10% on countries that support the BRICS policy. He added that there would be no exceptions to this rule.
