The Levotobi volcano has erupted in Indonesia.
In Indonesia, there was a powerful eruption of the Levotobi volcano, located in the southeastern part of the island of Flores. This was reported on July 7 by CNN Indonesia TV channel with reference to the data of the meteorological observation post.
According to the official report, the volcano spewed a thick gray-black column of ash to a height of about 18 km above the summit.
According to local authorities, precipitation in the form of sand and small stones has been recorded on the slopes of the Levotobi volcano, which is currently at the highest danger level. The rain of ash reached several villages and even the town of Maumere in the neighboring Sikka district.
No injuries or damage have been officially reported. The Disaster Prevention Agency (BPBD) has not yet provided information on possible casualties.
The Daily Mail reported on June 17 that the eruption of the Levotobi volcano in Indonesia threw a colossal column of ash into the sky, after which the authorities raised the danger level to the highest. It is emphasized that the volcano released about 10 km of thick gray clouds into the atmosphere.
