A magnetic storm has begun on Earth
Since the morning of July 7, a magnetic storm of minimal strength has been registered on Earth. This is reported on the website of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the Institute of Space Research (IKI) and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics (ISSF) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
"A new magnetic storm has been registered this morning, the second one this month. Like yesterday's event, which was the first in July, the storm has the weakest possible geomagnetic score, G1, and is generally observed again for no apparent reason. As yesterday, there was no event in the forecast," the message says.
The disturbance of the Earth's magnetic field remains for now. It is noted that the end of the storm is expected in the next couple of hours.
Earlier, on the night of June 12-13, a G2-level magnetic storm occurred on the planet.3. According to the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy, this event was not in the forecasts and the reasons for it are not clear.
