- The Scarlet Sails Alumni Celebration brought together tens of millions of viewers
The broadcast of the Scarlet Sails Alumni celebration in St. Petersburg a week ago on television and via Internet platforms set a record. Its audience exceeded 45 million people, a significant part of which were foreigners.
"Scarlet Sails" is a holiday that unites peoples, countries and continents. At the culmination of the holiday, the brig Rossiya appeared in the Neva River, which attracted the eyes of millions of viewers. Graduates have been waiting for this magical moment all their school years. Guests from Europe, Asia and the Middle East were also fascinated by the extravaganza on the Neva River.
"Yes, the guests of the city come to see the holiday specifically, yes, I heard. We want to see for ourselves, because we have never had such a thing," says Tatiana Galuzina, a resident of St. Petersburg.
They are ready to wait as long as they want, just to catch a glimpse of the sailboat of hope. In summer, people now travel to the Northern Capital not only for the sake of white nights. Scarlet Sails has become a point of attraction for tourists from all over the world.
"People are writing from all over the world, admiring it and dreaming of getting on it. I usually say that the easiest way to see this holiday is during a rehearsal," explained Tatiana Vasilkova, a St. Petersburg tour guide with experience.
Not everyone gets into the epicenter of events. Some residents and visitors of the city enter the roofs of houses to see this extravaganza. The wide avenues, majestic embankments and spacious squares of St. Petersburg cannot accommodate everyone. So, the limit of the Palace Square is a little more than 100 thousand people. The main thing for the organizers of this holiday is the safety of graduates who have come from all over the world.
"I am very happy to be here. I am very encouraged that I was able to share this experience both with my Venezuelan friends and with my new comrades from Russia!" the guest from Venezuela shared.
The creators of the holiday at the event speak about enduring values — a strong and friendly family, the power of love and willpower that allow you to reach any heights.
Vladislav Kabanov, director of the concert part of the Scarlet Sails festival, told Izvestia on July 4 that the organizers of the event, in the year of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, devoted part of the festive program to the siege of Leningrad and the feat of the city's inhabitants on the Neva. He said that the finale of the number turned out to be particularly impressive. The Symphony No. 7 "Leningradskaya" by composer Dmitry Shostakovich was played on the site.
