SRWP to support bill on discrediting traditional values in second reading

The A Just Russia – For Truth party will support in the second reading a bill on the non-issuance of rental certificates to films that contradict traditional values. This was stated to Izvestia by the head of the SRZP, Sergei Mironov.

The new law will help protect Russia from films with hostile plots and strengthen the spiritual and moral values of Russian citizens, he noted.

"For several decades, Russian screens have been filled with films with alien and often hostile meanings. Everything was presented under a beautiful guise, but life put everything in its place and clearly showed where the truth was and where the lie was. The lie that was supposed to destroy Russia from within. Life requires making decisions to protect against hostile content, and the bill on not issuing rental certificates to films that contradict traditional values solves this problem," said Sergey Mironov.

He added that such an initiative is in line with the presidential decree of November 9, 2022 "On Approving the foundations of state policy for the preservation and strengthening of traditional Russian spiritual and moral values."

On June 24, the State Duma approved in the first reading a bill on the non-issuance of rental certificates to films that discredit traditional values, and decided to amend it by July 8.
