The Liberal Democratic Party of Russia will support in the second reading a bill on the non-issuance of rental certificates to films that contradict traditional values. This was reported to Izvestia by deputy head of the LDPR faction Andrei Lugovoy.

"We have been raising the issue of rental certificates in the Liberal Democratic Party for three years. One example was the film "Spy Games," where Penkovsky, one of the worst traitors to the Soviet Union and Russia, is portrayed as a hero who fought the regime. This is a lie, a distortion of the historical truth and, in general, an outrage on national security. We must ensure that films that go beyond our Russian understanding do not appear in Russia," he said.

On June 24, the State Duma approved in the first reading a bill on the non-issuance of rental certificates to films that discredit traditional values, and decided to amend it by July 8.
