The leaders of the BRICS countries condemned the attacks on Iran, and also expressed concern about the escalation in the Middle East. This is stated in the final declaration of the unification summit in Rio de Janeiro, published on July 6.

"We condemn the military strikes on the Islamic Republic of Iran that began on June 13, 2025, which constitute a violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and we also express serious concern about the subsequent escalation of the security situation in the Middle East," the document says.

The BRICS also expressed concern over attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities that are under full International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards. Because of this, the meeting participants called on the UN Security Council to ensure nuclear safety in the context of armed conflicts.

In addition, the leaders of the BRICS member states drew attention to the negotiations on Gas. They called for an "immediate and unconditional ceasefire" in the enclave, as well as for free access to humanitarian aid./

On July 2, General Ahmad Vahidi, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), announced that Iran would give a tougher response if Israel attacked the state again. According to him, the Islamic Republic has previously demonstrated the ability to protect its territorial integrity.
