In Engels, a minor died due to a driver hitting a group of pedestrians.

In Engels, a VAZ 2110 driver, while intoxicated, drove into three pedestrians, resulting in the death of an underage girl. This was reported on July 6 in the Telegram channel of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia of the Saratov region.

"According to preliminary data, on July 6, 2025, the driver, while intoxicated, driving a VAZ 2110 car at the intersection of Krasnoznamennaya and Mira streets in Engels, hit three pedestrians. The minor girl died on the spot from her injuries," the report says.

A criminal case was opened into the incident in accordance with paragraph "a" of Part 4 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules that negligently caused the death of a person committed by a person in a state of intoxication"). At the moment, investigators are conducting an inspection of the incident site, as well as measures aimed at clarifying the circumstances of the incident.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that in the village of Chekhov in the Kholmsky district of the Sakhalin region, a 37-year-old woman, under the influence of alcohol, lost control of a vehicle, which drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Toyota Shienta. As a result of the accident, four people were injured, and another was killed.
