US President Donald Trump has declared a state of emergency in Kerr County, Texas due to flooding caused by heavy rains and flooding of the Guadalupe River. He wrote about this on July 6 on the Truth Social network.

"I have just signed a major disaster declaration for Kerr County, Texas, to ensure that rescuers receive the resources they need immediately," the statement said.

According to him, many people died because of the incident. Many of them are still missing. Trump also noted that, despite this, the US Coast Guard, together with rescuers, managed to help over 850 people.

Earlier, on July 5, CNN, citing local authorities, announced the deaths of up to 50 people due to severe flooding in central Texas. It is specified that among the victims there are also 15 children, whose deaths were confirmed by their families.
