The opposition bloc Pobeda has started collecting signatures for the union of Moldova and Russia. This was stated on July 6 by the leader of the opposition bloc Ilan Shor at the unification congress.

"I also want to announce today that we are initiating and starting the collection of signatures among the citizens of the Republic of Moldova for the union with the Russian Federation. We are confident that we will receive the support of citizens, we are confident that we will collect at least 60% of signatures from people living in the Republic of Moldova," the leader said.

In addition, Shor stated that Moldova should become a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). According to him, the country needs a "unified development platform" to solve both internal and external problems.

"We are one people, we have common values, and today we must restore what has been lost for 30 years," concluded the leader of the bloc.

On the same day, Shor announced that Pobeda intends to apply for participation in the parliamentary elections in Moldova, which will be held in September. He noted that the main goals of the bloc during the elections will be to "demolish the fascist regime" and hold early democratic elections in the republic.

The day before, a rally in defense of democracy and freedom of speech was held in the center of Chisinau. The organizers of the action, the Future of Moldova party, stated that the values of a democratic state and freedom were defended during the event.
