In the Murmansk region, two people died during a trail race

As a result of difficult weather conditions in Kirovsk, Murmansk region, two people died during the Khibiny amateur trail race. This was announced on July 6 by Governor Andrey Chibis in his Telegram channel.

According to the governor, this event was organized by a private company. Rescue services are currently working at the scene. The causes of the tragedy will also be investigated.

It is specified that the victims were a 62-year-old resident of St. Petersburg, as well as a 47-year-old resident of Moscow.

The press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the Murmansk region reported that a criminal case had been opened into the incident under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers").

In January last year, two residents of St. Petersburg died as a result of an avalanche in the Ramzai Gorge area in the Khibiny Mountains in the Murmansk region.
