At least 43 people, including 15 children, died as a result of flooding in Kerr County, Texas. CNN reported this on July 5, citing Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leita.

"At least 43 people have died in Kerr County, Texas, after severe flooding," the publication said.

It is specified that the bodies of five children have not yet been identified, and 12 of the 28 dead adults have not been identified. In addition, Leita added that the figures are not final and will change as search and rescue operations are still underway.

The city manager of Kerrville, Dalton Rice, in turn, noted that 27 children are still missing at the private Christian summer camp "Mystic".

The flooding that occurred in Kerr County, which caused multiple damage, became known on July 4. A state of emergency has been declared in the region. On July 5, Leita reported that 32 people, including 14 children, had died.
