Track and field athlete Kipyegon has updated the world record in running at a distance of 1.5 thousand meters.

On July 5, Kenyan athlete Faith Kipyegon set a new world record in the 1,500-meter run at the Diamond League tournament in the American city of Eugene.

The athlete updated her previous record for this distance of 3 minutes 49.04 seconds, set at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Now she has shown the result in 3 minutes 48.58 seconds.

Kipyegon is 31 years old. She is a three-time winner of the Olympic Games and a three-time world champion in the 1.5 thousand m run. In addition, she won another gold award at the 2023 World Championships at a distance of 5 thousand m.

Kenyan runner Beatrice Chebet set a new world record in 5,000 m running on July 5 at the Diamond League tournament in Eugene, breaking it in 13 minutes 58.06 seconds.
