- Oreshkin pointed to the steady growth of the Russian economy even in the face of sanctions

The Russian Federation not only coped with the sanctions against it, but also carried out a profound transformation of its economy. This was announced on July 5 by Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia.
"More than 30,000 sanctions have been imposed on our country — a record number, almost twice the total measures against all other states," he said during the BRICS business forum in Brazil.
Oreshkin stressed that the Russian Federation was faced with an "act of financial aggression", as attempts were made against it to disconnect from the payment infrastructure, supply chains were disrupted, and there were also attempts to strike at key sectors of the economy.
"We believed in our country, in people, in technology — and we achieved real breakthroughs, making the economy more sovereign and sustainable," he said.
A former member of the British diplomatic service, Ian Proud, in an article for Strategic Culture on July 5, called for easing sanctions against the Russian Federation. He pointed out that the restrictions had no real impact on Russia's abilities in various areas of production, noting that Russia would be able to endure economic difficulties longer than Europe.
