Soldiers of the 4th Brigade of the 3rd Combined Arms Army of the Southern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Russia told Izvestia about the situation on the front line and their achievements during the special military operation.

He also highlighted the joint work of his unit with UAV operators, who transmit information about the enemy's location to the gunners for their subsequent elimination. Medved's colleague, an artilleryman with the call sign Smooth, also noted the effectiveness of using this weapon to suppress firing positions, infantry and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

In addition, the Hero of the Russian Federation, the squad commander with the call sign Richard, told how his crew of the ZALA Lancet UAV with a Model 51 percussion instrument conducts reconnaissance behind enemy lines. According to him, the drone transmits an image in 4K format, which allows you to see "even an ant on the ground." The deputy commander of the UAV company with the call sign Neighbor added that such drones are equipped with two cameras at once, which broadcast everything that is on top and below the drone.

"All the time we are in position, the drone detector practically does not stop, which means that enemy drones are constantly hovering in the sky. In addition, automatic gunfire is constantly being heard — these are fighters in neighboring positions trying to shoot down drones," said Izvestia correspondent Egor Kildibekov.

The tank commander of the 4th brigade of the 3rd Combined Arms Guards Army of the Southern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with the call sign Caucasus spoke about the modifications and modernization of military equipment. He noted that the tanks are supplemented with new elements that protect the soldiers in the armored vehicle when attacking the enemy.

"The tank's hull has been reinforced <...>. Even if the roof is breached, there will be nothing inside, because the armored capsule is welded. No, they can't [break through] it," he said.

The 4th brigade of the 3rd Combined Arms Army of the Southern Group of Forces itself is legendary, as it consists mainly of those fighters who have participated in military operations in the region since 2014. At the same time, it was originally a militia, then it became the people's militia, and is currently part of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the 4th brigade of the 3rd Combined Arms Army of the SOUTH group of forces the title of "Guards".

The ceremony was held in a solemn atmosphere to the sounds of a festive march by a military band. After awarding some of the Russian soldiers with the orders "For Bravery", "For Bravery", "For Saving the Dead" and the Orders of St. George (St. George's Cross), the St. George ribbon was placed on the banner of the brigade as a distinctive sign of the Guards troops.
