NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is right only that he should learn Russian. This opinion was expressed on July 5 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, commenting on Rutte's arguments about the threat allegedly posed by Russia and China.

Earlier, in an interview with The New York Times, the NATO Secretary General said that he was concerned about the cooperation between Moscow and Beijing. According to him, China could allegedly "attack Taiwan." However, Rutte did not provide any evidence. At the same time, he noted that if the EU countries do not increase spending on defense, they will have to learn Russian.

"Secretary General Rutte has clearly gone over the magic mushrooms that the Dutch love. He sees collusion between China and Russia over Taiwan, and then Russia's attack on Europe. But he's right about one thing.: he really should learn Russian. It may come in handy in a Siberian camp," Medvedev wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Alexei Pushkov, a member of the Constitutional Committee of the Federation Council, said on July 5 that Rutte, speaking about the interaction between Russia and China in the context of the conflict with the West, claimed to be the author of the main political nonsense of the year.
