Vladimir Porfirov, an athlete from Naro-Fominsk, died during the Triathlon League & Ironstar in Moscow. This was announced on July 5 by the press service of the Russian Triathlon Federation (RTR).

"The Russian Triathlon Federation expresses its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased Russian athlete from Naro-Fominsk, Vladimir Porfirov...> The exact conclusions about the causes of death will be known later," reads a message on the Telegram channel of the FTR.

It is specified that during the swim at a distance of one mile, the athlete lost consciousness and began to sink, after which the lifeguard promptly brought the triathlete ashore. Despite prolonged resuscitation by doctors, it was not possible to save him. Porfirov was an experienced swimmer who had participated in similar competitions for more than 10 years.

The Russian Motorcycle Sports Federation (MFR) announced on June 28 that Ruslan Kozub, the Russian motocross champion with sidecars, died during a race at the Russian Championship in the city of Irbit, Sverdlovsk region. It was clarified that in connection with the incident, the competitions in Irbit were stopped. The President of the MFR, Alexander Jeus, expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
