A record-breaking large prominence was recorded on the Sun. This was announced on July 5 in the press service of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI RAS in the Telegram channel.

It is noted that a plasma structure measuring more than 1 million km was ejected towards the north pole of the solar system between 09:00 and 14:00 Moscow time.

At the same time, a similar situation occurred at the south pole of the Sun the day before.
