Cyber expert warned about dangerous words in conversations with scammers

When talking to scammers, it is extremely risky to provide codes from SMS and bank messages, since these data are the keys of bank accounts. Alexey Ershov, Deputy director of the REC of the Federal Tax Service of Russia and the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, told about this on July 5.
In addition, you should also not talk about your passport data, SNILS, INN, bank card numbers and passwords. Such actions can lead to financial losses and blackmail.
"Recording your 'yes' has no legal effect on contracts. But! It is dangerous to confirm anything: "true", "I agree", "I confirm", "translate". This gives scammers confidence," RT quotes the expert as saying.
Ershov also believes that attackers may need only 3-5 minutes of recording to create a primitive deepfake of a voice. However, for a more realistic version — 15-30 minutes or more. To create such a video, the amount of necessary material "increases significantly."
The expert urged citizens in suspicious situations not to be afraid to reset the call. He also advised checking information through official bank applications or during personal visits to institutions.
Earlier, on July 3, the Department for the organization of combating the illegal use of information and communication technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reported on what a courier from fraudulent schemes looks like. This is often a young nonresident Russian between the ages of 17 and 25 who is looking for an easy and quick income.
