Degtyarev paid a working visit to Kostroma and Vladimir regions

Mikhail Degtyarev, Minister of Sports and President of the Russian Olympic Committee, paid a working visit to the Kostroma and Vladimir regions from July 3 to 5, during which he discussed with the governors the development of sports infrastructure in the regions.

During the visit, Degtyarev toured sports facilities and joined the opening of the Youth Sports Contest finals. He also presented awards during the event.

"We have examined several facilities. We will lend a shoulder to the Vladimir region. A modular swimming pool in Murom is being built this year with federal funds, then a number of projects, also of public-private partnership, the Wrestling Palace in Vladimir, the governor has asked, we will support him," said Degtyarev.

In the Vladimir region, the Minister visited the Olympic Reserve Sports School. In addition, he reviewed plans for the construction of a sports complex and the reconstruction of the Torpedo stadium.

In Kostroma, Degtyarev noted the indicator of involvement in sports, which has become an achievement. In addition, he announced plans related to the construction of indoor sports facilities, including a modular swimming pool and pools. Degtyarev expressed support for the region and the hippodrome project as part of a public-private partnership.

"The national goal set by the President [of Russia Vladimir Putin] is 70% of those engaged in (sports. By the year 30, here in the Kostroma region, under the leadership of Sergei Konstantinovich Sitnikov, it is being carried out in excess of the plan. The dynamics are excellent – more than 60% already," the Minister of Sports emphasized.

As Degtyarev pointed out, over the past decade the region has made a breakthrough in the development of physical education and sports.

Earlier, on June 11, Degtyarev held the grand opening of sports facilities in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR), Zaporizhia and Kherson regions via video link. According to him, since 2022, the Russian Ministry of Sports has been carrying out large-scale work to restore the sports industry in new regions of the Russian Federation.
