Football player Mamaev called on people to "adequately" look at the situation with Smolov

The ex-striker of the Krasnodar football club, Fedor Smolov, fully realized his mistake and apologized to the victims. Football player Pavel Mamaev told Izvestia about this on July 5.

"Fedya himself realizes that he did the wrong thing, and he apologized. But in this situation, his body just shot out like that and couldn't contain itself. Of course, it is a pity that such a situation has occurred," Mamaev said.

According to him, he fully supports his close friend Smolov. He also expressed confusion about the time of publication of the conflict video and urged people to "adequately" look at the situation.

"People are silent for a month and then suddenly a video appears. Fedya told me yesterday that he was subjected to extortion...> If they were there for some kind of justice and understood that they were right, why didn't they immediately go and take some action?" — the football player added.

The conflict occurred at the Coffee company on Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street on May 28. Later, on June 5, footage of a football player fighting with visitors appeared online. In addition, after the incident, Smolov was asked for money so that this video would not get online, but the athlete refused to pay.

It later became known that the conflict between Smolov and the two men occurred after they refused to have the athlete pay their bill. Businessman Andrey Popelukha, who became a participant in the fight, told Izvestia that he had no complaints against Smolov after the fight. Police officers are conducting a check on the fact of the fight.
