The presence of hidden heart problems can be indicated by several non-obvious symptoms at once, including weakness, insomnia, shortness of breath, and even loss of appetite, which cannot be ignored. Ivan Yefremkin, a cardiologist at the Scandinavian Health Center, told about this on July 5.

According to him, ischemia and heart attacks manifest themselves not only in obvious pain in the chest area, but also in fatigue, jaw pain, nausea, heartburn, as well as discomfort in the back or abdomen. Sometimes, in particularly difficult cases, a heart attack begins with a sudden fainting of the patient. All of the above symptoms, as noted by the doctor, can easily be confused with stress or overexertion.

Efremkin noted that chronic fatigue and lack of sleep can cause an increase in cortisol levels and provoke hypertension, vascular inflammation, which usually manifests itself in nighttime awakenings, edema, snoring and apnea (temporary respiratory arrest during sleep). In addition, the patient may complain of "flies" in front of his eyes and tinnitus.

The specialist urged, in the presence of any of the above symptoms, to contact cardiologists for advice and undergo an examination, even if the manifestation of signs of a heart attack does not seem serious.

"Basic methods are used to assess cardiovascular risks: blood pressure and pulse measurements, blood tests (lipid profile, glucose, C‑reactive protein), electrocardiogram (ECG). If necessary, daily monitoring, ultrasound of the heart (EchoCG) and stress tests (bicycle ergometry, treadmill test) are prescribed," he summed up in an interview withГазетой.ги ".

Evgenia Bogaevskaya, a cardiologist at the UNKP-Med Medical Center, told Izvestia on June 23 about methods of preventing sudden cardiac death, which, according to the scientific Congress of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), takes the lives of not only the elderly, but also young people, as it is asymptomatic. Fainting, shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat, chest pain, and general weakness can also be alarming signals.
