At least 24 people have died as a result of flooding in Kerr County in central Texas, USA. This was reported on July 4 by The New York Times (NYT), citing Kerr Region Sheriff Larry Leita.

Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leita provided an updated death toll from the flooding, saying 24 bodies had been found.

It is specified that the number of victims and missing included girls from a Christian summer camp, which was located on the banks of the Guadalupe River. A total of 20 children have gone missing, whose photos are being distributed by their parents online to obtain any information about the minors' whereabouts.

It is noted that at the same time, some of the families of the missing girls went to specialized reunification centers to try to find them there.

Flooding in Kerr County, which is the cause of multiple damage, became known on July 4. A state of emergency has been declared in the region.
