The injured nine-year-old boy, who was attacked by an unknown man in Sergiev Posad, was operated on by doctors. This was announced on July 4 by the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Moscow Region, Ksenia Mishonova.

"The boy was operated on. His life is not in danger. He is currently in the ward with his mother," she said in a message on her Telegram channel.

In addition, she noted that the attacker has schizophrenia. At the time of the attack, the injured child was playing in the yard.

The attack on the boy in Sergiev Posad became known earlier that day. In the courtyard of an apartment building, a man stabbed a nine-year-old child in the neck. The suspect was detained. A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 30 and paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted murder of a minor").
