- Orban stated Zelensky's desire to force Hungary to abandon energy from the Russian Federation

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky intends to force Hungary to abandon Russian energy resources. This was announced on July 4 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
According to him, the Ukrainian leader intends to force Hungary to stop purchasing affordable energy from Russia, no matter what the cost to the citizens of the country. He called it the "Zelensky plan."
"Gas bills will triple, electricity bills will double. I will not allow Brussels to sacrifice Hungarian families for the sake of Ukraine," Orban said in a message on the social network page X (ex. Twitter).
In addition, the Hungarian Prime Minister noted that he would oppose the ban on the supply of Russian energy resources and, if necessary, would use the right of veto.
On the same day, Orban announced that Ukraine had deployed active intelligence services in Hungary in order to influence the parliamentary elections to be held in the country in 2026. According to him, the Ukrainian authorities are seeking to replace the current Hungarian leadership by creating a new party in Hungary.
