The director of the Taigan Park spoke about plans to continue working with lions.

Oleg Zubkov, director of the Crimean safari park Taigan, announced on July 4 that he intends to continue visiting and communicating with lions, while the animal that attacked him will remain in the savanna.
"Believe me, nothing will change either in my behavior or in my life. I remain who I made myself to be, who I feel like. Therefore, do not be angry with me, but I will go to the lions, communicate with the lions, and with other animals. I will be Oleg Zubkov until the last days. <...> This is my path, I chose it and I will follow it to the end," he said in a video message distributed on his Youtube channel.
He added that the lion that attacked him would continue to live in the savannah, but the park director promised to change his approach. Zubkov also noted that he was in no hurry to return to Taigan, as he had a reliable team there that he could rely on.
Lev attacked Zubkov on June 22, inflicting multiple wounds on the man. The victim underwent surgery, and his condition was stabilized. According to Tatiana Aleksagina, the head of the Taigan's press service, the park director attracted Lev's attention with the sharp sound of the door closing. Later, on July 1, Aleksagina said that Zubkov, who was injured by Lev's attack, was on the mend, and there was no question of blood poisoning.
