Hamas has announced its readiness to immediately begin negotiations on Gaza.

On July 4, the Palestinian Hamas movement announced its readiness to immediately begin negotiations on a mechanism for implementing the Gaza agreement, which was previously proposed by the mediators.
"The movement is seriously ready to immediately begin a round of negotiations on a mechanism for implementing the agreement," the Hamas press service said in a Telegram channel.
It is clarified that representatives of the movement have also completed internal consultations with the Palestinian factions on the latest proposal of the mediators on a cease-fire in Gaza and have given a positive response.
The New York Times reported on June 2 that the new US proposal for the Gaza Strip involves the release of 10 remaining hostages and the return of 18 bodies held by Hamas in exchange for Palestinian prisoners in 60 days. According to sources, the new proposal is aimed at providing the Palestinian movement with more firm guarantees of a cessation of hostilities through a temporary truce.
