A traffic police officer was attacked in Nalchik, and he was hospitalized in serious condition. Izvestia has collected all the details of what happened by this hour.

What happened

— As Kazbek Kokov, the head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, wrote in his Telegram channel, an attack on a traffic police officer using a cold weapon took place around 18:00 Moscow time. The attacker was eliminated by return fire.;

— The injured employee was hospitalized in serious condition, he is receiving all necessary medical care.;

— The footage, which appeared at the disposal of Izvestia, shows how a man approaches a law enforcement officer who is communicating with other people and stabs him several times with a knife.;

— According to the Telegram channel 112, there could have been two attackers.;

— As the Ministry of Health of Kabardino-Balkaria told RIA Novosti, two people were taken to the hospital after the incident. Their identities are not being clarified.;

— Investigators have opened a criminal case on the fact of an attempt on the life of law enforcement officers. Investigators and criminologists are working at the scene, and eyewitnesses are being questioned.
